How is a vacation rental better than a hotel room?

Whether you need additional space or just additional privacy, our Auburn, Alabama short-term rentals will exceed your expectations. Our homes are like your home. Each of our properties are furnished with comfort in mind. The homes are decorated and furnished with complete attention to detail, including premium bedding, comfortable mattresses, every kitchen gadget you can imagine, and a set of oils & spices to meet the needs of even the most discerning chefs. Hotels work in a pinch, but they can’t make you feel at home like a LlamaStay Getaway can.

What will I find on the LlamaStay site that is not already offered by the VRBO/HomeAway/Airbnb sites?

At LlamaStaygetaway.com, we strive to serve as your one-stop-shop for every detail of your upcoming trip. Our site offers a complete overview of the property, and we go a step further with a deep dive into local restaurants, activities for kids, events for the weekend, and more. Our site has it all in one place, from information about our homes to details about the Auburn-Opelika area. What kind of vacation rental does LlamaStay offer?

All LlamaStay properties are self-contained, single family residential homes. While some of our properties are in a townhome setting and may share one or more exterior walls, you will have all of the privacy and amenities of a traditional home including garage access, private patios, private entrances, full sized kitchen & laundry appliances, walk-in closets, and more.

What is the cancellation policy at LlamaStay?

We provide a flexible cancellation policy through our booking partners, VRBO, Airbnb, and Booking.com.

Are guests require to sign a rental agreement?

All rental agreement, cancelation policies, and security deposit requirements (if any) are managed through our booking partners, VRBO, Airbnb, and Booking.com.

What are the sleeping arrangements at LlamaStay?

Each of our homes offers a unique design and layout, but they are spacious enough for groups of 5 to 14 depending on the property you choose. We have both three and 4 bedroom properties, and some offer additional sleeping options in the form of sleeper sofas and futons. Each property includes at least one king bed, one queen bed, and two full beds in addition to sofas, sleeper chairs, and/or futons. You can find specifics about each unit on their individual listing pages. As an example, Runningvine Lane can hold up to 10 guests in 3 different rooms in addition to a sleeper sofa in the living room.

What is the LlamaStay maximum occupancy policy?

The maximum number of people each unit can be found on their individual listing pages, but fluctuates between 9 and 14 guests. The homes are very spacious to with the comfort of every guest in might, no matter their age.

I forgot something important that I need for my trip. Can you help me?

"We understand that traveling can be hectic and we often forget things at home that we need for our trip. At LlamaStay, we've been there too and we are happy to help! If you find yourself in need of something, or maybe you just want something specific, please let us know and we will provide a courier service to bring you those items if they are available in the local area. The fee for this service will be a pass-through cost of what we incur, plus 20%. For example, if you brought your laptop, but forgot your charger, that's no problem! We will provide a courier service to bring you the charger for the cost of the item and service, plus 20%. Ex: Laptop charger $50 + Courier Service $30 = $80 + $16 (20% Service Fee) = $96.

This is not a service we provide as a revenue stream, we simply want to ensure that you and your crew have every last detail you require to make your trip everything you desire while still covering our costs. "

Check-in & Check-out

Does LlamaStay allow early check-ins and late check-outs?

If you need an early check-in or late check-out, please let us know as early as possible. We do our best to accommodate special requests, but due to the consistent occupancy of our properties, we are often managing a check-out and check-in on the same day. If we can accomodate your needs without putting undue pressure on our staff or other guests, we will be happy to do so. However, whenever possible, you will have access to your property by 3 PM CST, and will need to depart from your property no later than 11 AM CST on the dates stipulated in your scheduled booking.

What is the check-in time at LlamaStay?

Check-in is no earlier than 3 PM CST, but as a result of our user-friendly smartlocks, guests have the freedom to arrive at any time that is convenient for them after 3 PM CST. All of our units have digital keypads for a speedy check-in process. Once you book your LlamaStay Getaway, we will send you the codes for the front and back doors the day of your arrival date. There’s no need for a key and no need to meet anyone at the property!

What are the check-out procedures?

Check-out is no later than 11 AM CST on the designated date. Upon your departure, we ask that you turn off the lights and lock the doors. Our cleaning crew will take care of the rest to prepare each home for the next guests.

After Your Stay

What is your lost and found policy?

Like many of you, we have occasionally left an article or two behind at a vacation rental or hotel, so we understand the need to be able to retrieve those belongings. We are happy to return your lost item to you if you call us within two weeks of your departure date. A $20.00 handling fee, plus postage, will be assessed for all lost & found items that have been recovered and returned. Any items not claimed within two weeks will be donated to a local charity.

What happens if I damage the property?

We understand that sometimes accidents happen. In the event that something on the property becomes damaged or broken, please contact us as soon as you can. We will do our best to mitigate the damage and reduce any potential liability. However, should irreparable damage occur, all charges will be assessed via the booking partner through which you booked your visit.

Housekeeping & Maintenance

Can I clean the LlamaStay home myself upon check-out, rather than using your cleaning services?

To ensure that we are adhering to the CDC guidelines for a safe and healthy environment, we do not allow guests to clean our properties in place of a professional cleaning. Our housekeeping crew keeps rigorous cleaning standards and is required to clean the house after each guest leaves. This guarantees our LlamaStay units are always in excellent condition to keep all of our guests safe and healthy.

Do you provide daily maid service?

In order to keep our rates as low as possible, we do not include a daily cleaning service. However, if you would like a mid-stay or even daily cleaning service during your visit, please send us a message and we will arrange and additional light cleaning for a fee of $80 per cleaning.

We've been here a couple of days and we've run out of toilet paper & dishwashing soap. Can you bring us some more?

We can't get the TV/DVD/Internet/etc. working. Are there instructions in the unit?

Each house has a guide both in written form and in our magic mirror on the wall. It has all the passwords for Wifi and instructions for the TVs. If something is not working, please let us know and we will get you back online asap.

Is there an after-hours emergency contact number/person for the LlamaStay getaway?

We don’t have an after-hours emergency number, but if you contact us through the app, we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Location & Access

How do I obtain the keys for my LlamaStay home?

Having paid for your LlamaStay in full, you will receive the front and back doors codes on the day of arrival. There’s no need for a key.

Is there parking available?

Each LlamaStay home has its own garage along with driveway parking. Two cars fit without a problem and could even bring a third to park on the curb. If there are more than 3 cars, there is additional street parking available as well.

Is there an elevator/handicap access at the LlamaStay houses?

We do have one handicap-accessible unit. There are no elevators at any of the LlamaStay properties. Please message us directly and we will do our best to accommodate your travel schedule.

Is there convenient transportation to and from the LlamaStay homes?

Auburn is a small town, and the LlamaStay homes are conveniently located near Auburn University, Toomer's Corner, and a list of restaurants and shops. If you need transportation, the Tiger Transit line is available as well as shuttle services like Uber and Lyft. A bicycle rental service called James Bros Bikes offers service Mondays through Saturdays. Trains are not available in Auburn, but you can use a few different shuttle services to and from the airport. You can find this information in our directory on this website. We recommend you to check the shuttle schedule before purchasing your plane tickets.

Features & Amenities

Are LlamaStay rental units pet-friendly?

We love animals too. Our homes are pet-friendly but please let us know so we may prepare for an additional cleaning protocol upon your departure.

Is smoking allowed in the house?

LlamaStay is a smoke-free home. We do not allow smoking in or around the house, including the patios. Despite our best efforts, allowing smoking anywhere near the home results in the interior attracting the smell as well. As part of our increased efforts to keep our properties clean and sanitary for all guests, we cannot allow smoking within 25 feet of any LlamaStay property.

Do LlamaStay homes come with linens and towels, or do I need to bring my own?

High-quality linen, fluffy bath towels, and kitchen towels are provided. We are serious when we tell you we have thought about pretty much everything you will need. Our properties are fully stocked.

What items can I expect to find in my LlamaStay home?

Our rental homes are equipped with most items you would need. The units contain a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, utensils, dishes, pots and pans, oils and spices, niche cooking utensils & gadgets galore, linens, extra pillows & blankets, etc. even hairdryers. We have cleaning supplies, including hand soap, dish soap, dishwashing detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels. You can even expect to find drinks and snacks upon arrival. However, If you need anything else, let us know, and we will try to accommodate.

Is internet access available at the LlamaStay homes?

Yes, all of our homes have complimentary high speed internet and WiFi and you can find the passwords in written form posted throughout the home.

Are there BBQ's available?

All of our properties have a propane grill available for use.

Are there cribs, highchairs, and toys available at LlamaStay units?

Each property comes equipped with a pack-n-play available for use.

Are the LlamaStay units child-proof?

While we strive to create a family-friendly environment, we do not include outlet covers or stair-gates at our properties. Please take this into consideration when booking your stay.

Booking Process

What form of payments does LlamaStay accept?

We accept any form of payment available through the Airbnb and VRBO platforms.

When and how to make payments?

We only accept bookings through our booking partners, VRBO, Airbnb, and Booking.com.

What are the additional costs if any?

The rental rate, taxes, cleaning fee, booking fee, and any applicable deposits are all included in your reservation. The only additional fees you may incur will be extras or addons that you request during your stay.

What if I need to cancel?

We offer a flexible cancellation policy through our booking partners.

Are there any discounts available to LlamaStay guests?

We provide dynamic pricing through our booking partners and prices are adjusted according to demand. While most of our properties remain booked year round, please contact us directly if you are looking to book an extended stay, a stay more than 6 months in the future, or if you might need to book multiple properties. We are happy to accomodate custom requests and can provide discounts for multi-property bookings or returning guests.

How far in advance can you book your LlamaStay?

Our properties are available for booking up to 12 months in advance.

When is the LlamaStay peak season?

While Auburn football season creates the highest demand, our properties are typically booked year-round. However, outside of major sporting events or other events surrounding the university activities, we usually have availability within a few weeks of your travel dates. Please plan as far ahead as you can in order to secure a property. The owners of LlamaStay properties do not block off calendar dates for any reason other than a property being occupied or for regular property maintenance. If the calendar shows that the property is available, you can count on it being available.
